We fight for papers. We work for papers. We present papers to ICE in the hopes of proving our right to stay, to work, and to live without fear. In the immigration system, 'papers' represent more than just documentation—they represent status, security, and the recognition of our humanity by a system that often tries to ignore it.
But a piece of paper can never tell the whole story.
Behind every legal filing, every work permit, and every status is a pulse. A heartbeat. A human being with a family, a history, and a future that no government form can fully capture.
As an immigration attorney and the child of immigrants from Mexico, I see this tension every day. I see the high stakes of the struggle for documentation, but I never lose sight of the person holding the paper.
Our Mission: From Paper to Pulse
Every dollar of profit from this store is dedicated to a singular purpose: removing the financial barriers to justice. Currently, 100% of proceeds go directly to:
Covering USCIS and legal filing fees for families who have been priced out of the system.
Funding expert legal representation for immigrants in removal proceedings who cannot afford an attorney.
This is more than a shop; it is the seed for a future non-profit legal aid foundation. Our goal is to build a permanent home for high-quality, zero-cost immigration defense—ensuring that no "pulse" is ever lost simply because they lacked the "paper" to pay for a lawyer.
